February 2008 ... Rent Casa Escocia

Casa Escocia is now available to rent as a self catering villa. Make use of the 6 bedroom Mountain Villa for your family or group of friends. Enjoy a chilled out break or use the villa as a base for adventure activities. Prices start from £550 (Nov - Mar) up to £850 (Apr - Oct) for one week and the cost includes the use of the Sunshine Breaks fleet of mountain bikes. See our Mountain Villa page for further details.

Casa Escocia B&B closes / Sunshine Breaks Mountain Villa opens!

New Year / New Direction ...

Happy New Year from the Sunshine Breaks Team. We are making some big changes this coming year starting with the news that the Sunshine Breaks B&B has now closed. We would like to say thank you to everyone who stayed with us over the last year and a bit. It has been a wonderful experience for us but the good news is the Sunshine Breaks Mountain Villa Casa Escocia is now available for renting on a self catering basis. We will also continue to use Casa Escocia for our all inclusive holidays. For those interested in why we're changing direction see our about us page.

December 2007 ... The Sunshine Breaks Support Vehicle ...

We have just purchased the new Sunshine Breaks support vehicle which can seat 9 riders and has plenty storage for kit and bikes in the back. I know those that sampled the luxury of "The Beast" will be dissapointed to see such a shiny new vehicle but all good things must come to an end and the old vehicle has been sent to the retirement village in the sky!!

October 2007 ... New Mountain Bikes arrive at Casa Escocia ...

We have just taken hold of our latest batch of Mountain Bikes for the coming season. We've added another six Specialized Hardrock's to our fleet so those coming out here who don't want to bring their own bikes can be assured of good quality bikes whilst riding the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada.

Sunshine Breaks now have our own account with Youtube. You can Subscribe to our account and receive notice whenever we put a new video onto the web. Our first entry "Mountain Biking in Traditional Spain" has already had a lot of hits. You can view this on our Mountain Biking page or through our Sunshine Breaks Video Collection on Youtube. Feedback on any of our clips is always appreciated.

I will keep this updated fairly regularly so that guests, family, friends and anyone else that comes across it can read about what we've been up to in this lovely part of the world that we now call home ... May 2007 ... Competition Winners Enjoy Their Break at Casa Escocia ...

Dave and Jess Ashurst were the lucky winners of our Giveaway Competition. They have just had a holiday with their children at our Mountain B&B Casa Escocia. They explored the area and spent a few days at the beach enjoying the Spanish weather and making the most of the hospitality on offer at Casa Escocia!

"We've had such a great time, I haven't seen the kids enjoy themselves as much before" said Jess. Don't worry Jess, we won't mention your fear of heights! Glad you enjoyed yourselves and hopefully we'll see you all again sometime.

May 2007 ... Upgrades at Casa Escocia ...

Casa Escocia guests can now relax even more this summer under the shade of a new hand crafted pagoda which covers the whole of the lower part of the terrace.

May 2007 ... Nechite goes high tech!! ...

We now have wireless internet connection available for guests who bring their own laptop with them to Casa Escocia and need access to the web. There is no charge to use this facility.

April 2007 ... Medina Elvira Golf Course Open ...

The Medina Elvira project in Granada has opened the first 9 holes of their golf course to compliment the already open driving range. All 18 holes will be open in June and Sunshine Breaks will have accommodation available here with a new luxury base due for completion in September. Standby for details ...

April 2007 ... End of Snow Season ...

The Sierra Nevada ski resort will officially close on 22nd April. The season is finishing on a high due to the huge amount of snow fall in the last few weeks. Seems crazy with the conditions being so great at the moment. Lots of off piste to be found and the slopes are in the best condition of the season.

March 2007 ... Great Snow on the Sierra's ...

If your looking for excellent on piste conditions with loads of sunshine then the Sierra Nevada resort is the place to go. Conditions are fantastic for this time of year, most of the mountain is open with some off piste options higher up. The snow park is in great nick and with more snow being forecast the Sierra Nevada is a great place to head for spring snow. More details can be found on our Snow Breaks page.

February 2007 ... Ballachulish Villa Discount ...

For the month of April Sunshine Breaks customers can take advantage of a huge discount of almost £100 for the Ballachulish Villa. If you fancy taking an Easter break in Lochaber then contact Sunshine Breaks and we can book you in for one week at only £400. Remember this luxury base can sleep eight people. You won't get a better deal anywhere in the area.

February 2007 ... Alaska Snow Records ...

Alyeska resort in Alaska has just went past the 500 inches of snow fall so far this season. For those who don't have a calculator handy that's over 41 feet and it's still only February. The snow may be lacking in the Alps but in Alaska they are looking towards an all time record. They've already had the snowiest December since records began. Sunshine Breaks have a 2 bed apartment right on the mountain here. Click here for details.

February 2007 ... Rob's Andalucian Adventure ...

I'm at the planning stages of a wee trip later in the year, dates to be confirmed but probably Sept/Oct. The plan is for a week long adventure here in Andalucia which will involve a journey through the region partaking in a range of adventurous activities. Some or all of the following will be used ... walking/climbing, mountain biking, sea kayaking, horse riding, paragliding etc. The exact details and locations will be kept a secret to add to the intrigue. This will be limited to 8 people and the costs will be kept to a minimum. It will be adventurous without being outrageous, exciting without being extreme and will be based around having good old fashioned fun. Oh yeah, there will also be plenty of sunshine!! February 2007 ... Salobrena Accommodation details ...

Sunshine Breaks have began the process of adding several properties in Salobrena to the website so that customers can have more information on the holiday homes available in this wonderful beach resort. Salobrena is one of our favourite destinations whenever we think of spending time at the beach. January 2007 ... Stained Glass Workshops in Spain ...

We have teamed up with Peter & Susanne of Inshalah Glass, a local company based in Las Alpujarras who specialise in the art of Stained Glass. They run workshops and those staying at our wonderful B&B, Casa Escocia, can take advantage of their time here by learning or improving their techniques in this fascinating art form. January 2007 ... Sunshine Breaks expansion ...

This month we are launching the next phase of our growth as a company. We now have included Alaska and Scotland as destinations for our customers. The accommodation being added will all keep within the aim of our company ie. places that are unique, a little bit different and a bit special.

Our Alaska base is in an amazing location and has some of the best terrain for snowboarding and skiing anywhere on the planet. We spent time there ourselves a few years back so this destination was added from personal experience of the area.

In the Highlands of Scotland you now have the option of an incredible four bedroom stately home right in the heart of a village in the Lochaber area. The detached house with its own grounds was recently modernised with top quality finishing throughout providing a luxurious place to stay in the Outdoor Capital of the UK. Situated amongst the mountains of Glencoe and only a short drive from Britains highest peak Ben Nevis. Details of this and a great family run B&B in Fort William will follow soon.
